#1. Physical Flirting

If the girl you’re interested in has been lightly touching your arm or shoulder, giving you a gentle shove or pulling you in closer to whisper something in your ear, that is most likely physical flirting. For most women, physical touch is a very important part of flirting, and is not only a sign of great chemistry, but also means that she may genuinely like you.

#2. Traditional Flirting

When a man flirts with a woman and the woman “receives” his flirting, this is what’s known as traditional flirting. And though it might seem outdated to some of us, many women may respond surprisingly well to this old-fashioned manner of flirting. Unfortunately, traditional flirting doesn’t usually help you determine if a girl likes you.

#3. Polite Flirting

If the girl you like seems to be interested, and also seems overly courteous, she may be a “polite” flirter. In fact: really good manners can sometimes be confused with polite flirting. So, try to note how she interacts with others, versus how she interacts with you: Is she much more courteous to you than everyone else? She might be politely flirting, and if she is, she might be interested.

#4. Sincere Flirting

If you really like a woman and want to know that she likes you back, sincere flirting is probably what you should be looking for. That’s because sincere flirting is characterized by genuine, meaningful gestures - and usually indicates that a woman is seeking more of a serious connection with you.

#5. Playful Flirting

Playful flirting may have the potential to cross over into sincere flirting, but a lot of the time, it just means that a girl enjoys flirting with you. So even though playful flirting may not mean she likes you just yet, it might be fair to say that she at least likes flirting with you and wants you to flirt back.

Of the five types of flirting, you really want to pay particular attention to three of them: 

1) Sincere flirting, 

2) Playful flirting and, 

3) physical flirting.

In most cases, sincere flirting encompasses the other types of flirting, So if you know that a girl is sincerely flirting with you, there’s a good chance she likes you. If she is playfully or physically flirting with you, she could be showing some interest and may start sincerely flirting with you soon. Those are the five most common types of flirting that every guy should know.
